I won’t be doing THAT again for at least two days

Uncle Foton is feeling a little weak today, although I was pleasantly surprised that I didn’t sleep in my clothes last night. Every now and then, I kick the living shit out of me.

Meanwhile, if you’ve a thirst for MMOG news, the more professional blogs, (y’know, written by people that aren’t cheating shitbags like me), are talking about the server mergers on EverQuest-Classic. Found on Plaguelands, details about the mergers and which servers are being smooshed together. (EQ link) Thought I’d never live to see the day.

One site note, I added a link on the right to a linklog I’m using to store some of the non-gaming links I run across that are either useful to me (like WordPress crap) , are amusing, or waste copious amounts of time I’d otherwise spend being productive. There’s probably a more efficient way, but it’s time for my afternoon nap and when I say “nap”, I mean “staff meeting.”

A Dirty Little Secret

Since this is out in the open now … there’s been this dirty little secret in Warcraft. It involves the Auction House and, if I’m to be blunt about it, cheating. Y’see, you can set up circumstances so that you always win the auctions and can never be outbid.

Let me back up …

A few weeks or so ago, one of the guildmates was spamming that he needed to talk to me on the phone. TeamSpeak was down until our guildleader got home from work, but he needed to … talk … on … the … phone. *wink wink*

This could only mean one thing. He had to talk to me about something that shouldn’t … hmm, how to say … be documented anywhere. In other words, this was going to be some sort of ethical issue. And how I hate ethical issues.

I prefer black and white. I really hate the gray areas.

There’s this series of Alliance quests in World of Warcraft where players have to talk to this Stormwind NPC who’s posing as a cheese vendor. He’s mixed up in this mess where Stormwind diplomats and royalty are missing — it’s a real rat’s nest of treachery and power struggles.

Cheez Wiz

He’s one of those quest NPCs where noobs are constantly asking his location. “For the last time, he’s in the fucking cheese shop, I know that sounds ridiculous — someone with such valuable insider information about the plot against Stormwind is living out a quiet retirement as a Cheese wiz, but it’s true, nevertheless!”
