Mug’Thol Admits Defeat

Could someone from Sony please call the Blizzard guys and explain to them how to properly populate a split server? I know you guys are sitting there just laughing your asses off while Blizztard Entertainment tries to teach themselves MMOG Management 101, but have a heart and give them a hand. Blizzard’s (new and improved) plan to fix the debacle of 8 full-pop servers zerging Mug’Thol: “In order to alleviate traffic during peak times on Mug’thol, we’ll be opening up character transfers to Archimonde starting on Wednesday, February 8 at 3:00 AM PST. Players on this realm will have until Friday, February 10 at 3:00 PM PST to complete the transfer of their characters from Mug’thol to Archimonde.”

  1. Since they opened transfer from Archimond to Dethecus, which is now an over populated server 🙂

God, US Transfers are even worse than EU ones. Old server to Old server, wtf?

  2. Archimonde is underpopulated from the recent evacuation to Mug’thol:

We will be opening character transfers for the 8 realms listed below today at 3:00 AM. Characters on these realms will be able to transfer to the new PvP realm, Mug’thol. This round of transfers will be open Monday through Friday from 3:00 AM to 3:00 PM PST until Wednesday, February 1 at 3:00 PM PST. Please be aware that until the transfer window is closed, standard character creation will be unavailable on this realm.

    Archimonde
    Mannoroth
    Warsong
    Bleeding Hollow
    Skullcrusher
    Azgalor
    Burning Blade
    Burning Legion

Originally, some PVE and RP realms were going to be allowed onto Mug’thol also and they realized that probably wasn’t appropriate and limited Mug’thol to PVP evacuees only.

It’s really hard to keep up. People come and go so quickly around here.

  3. Hmm, I wondering if the domino effect of realm transfers will cascade its way to my server. I would laugh. And then I would cry.

  4. I’m suprised they didn’t also offer a transfer from Mug’thol to Garithos, since that 3 realm transfer (which Warsong was included in) resulted in a ghost town from what I’ve heard.
