EverQuest turned 7 years old last week.
EQ celebrated by offering a double experience weekend for all current players, which is available until noon pacific today. My secret EQ contacts told me they were knocking down about 3 AA points every 45 minutes. That was in a best-case scenario experience group with a botted cleric — mine, on loan to the secret contacts.
Best EQ Cleric memory: Level 1 dark elf cleric fresh out of Neriak the second day of live (because if you will recall, there wasn’t a whole lot of playing going on that first live day — crash, crash, BOOM!). I was lost in Nektulos Forest, again, and it began to rain. Even with dark elf vision, I couldn’t see a damn thing and ran right into the skeletons and mummies. I could see then. I saw I was getting the shit kicked out of me.
Thus began the first corpse run of many to follow.
Congrats EQ. You are legend.

i always regret not reaching end game in eq. good thing wow has showed me with its end game that its definitely worth getting to that content…. in any game i’m sure
