O NOES, FOES

An article in the BBC News today, “Problems plague World of Warcraft” got me to chuckling this morning. It’s about the server problems as of late (i.e. the past 18 months) and Blizzard’s recent rah-rah State of the Game address. They talk to a few players who have respectable real lives — not slobs like you and me — and, in particular, they spoke with Jeff Woleslagle, an editor at Ten Ton Hammer. Let me clarify that I like Ten Ton Hammer, I don’t think they’re idiots; it’s a little too ad-y for my tastes, but we all have to pay the bills. At any rate, teh BBC paraphrased Mr. Woleslagle’s comments on how lag can affect gameplay, “These tiny delays often occured at the most inconvenient times. For instance, they could mean that healing spells were not cast in time and player-controlled characters got overwhelmed by foes.” This is how immature I am, I think that’s hilarious. Foes. OH NOES, We’re overwhelmed by FOES! Maybe they talk like that on the RP servers, but on the regular servers for slobs like us, fancy boys and their foes are not welcome. (God. I’m so easily amused.)
