A Gaming Conference

My guild is having a meeting soon. And when I say “meeting”, I don’t mean we meet up in a game and chat in the guild channel about pressing game issues; I mean we log into TeamSpeak and the Guild Leader has a written agenda that he covers. And he calls on people that have commentary to add.

I’m not making that up. But how I wish I was.

We have these “meetings” with some regularity — mostly we rehash old topics: loot distribution, who wants to join the guild and if we hate them or not, point sytems, etc. — and as far as I’ve been able to tell, nothing really ever gets decided.

Hence my reluctance.

Guild meetings just seem to cross the line between gaming and WORK. If I wanted to hear someone outline the merits of Logo A versus Logo B, I’d go to work on time for the morning meeting. (i.e. Since I don’t, I usually don’t.)

One guild meeting, a few of us got rip roaring drunk while one of the leaders rambled on about what was an exploit and what wasn’t an exploit.

I heard I was quite entertaining.
