Noobs R Us

Blizzard really needs to hire more dicks. If they had more people that were dicks, they could forsee this kinda stuff from the start.

Let’s say you’re a Horde out for a night on town. You’re level 60 … you’ve been there, done that … you’re buffed, sure, you’ve been working out (metaphorically), and you have no place to go. Possibly there’s some action out in Auberdine, maybe Menethil, anywhere there’s some naive Alliance trying to grind level 20.

So you bid your goodbyes to your brethren in the Barrens and head north, to Darkshore. Dodge a few guards. Maybe you don’t dodge, maybe you kill … no matter. You arrive relatively unscathed in Auberdine nonetheless.

And what have we here? A port NPC that’s not elite and has no faction consequences. I ask you this … who among us could resist? You lock down a faction from traveling to the other continent, indefinitely, with no consequences. Who among us could resist?

Not I. (Although my main isn’t Horde, I won’t claim that I’m above toying with a non-elite, factionless NPC.)

Read for yourself. Blizz response, post #192, courtesy of hapless Tyren: “We are aware of the situation, and will address it soon.”

Blizzard’s raw noobness is almost endearing. Kinda reminds me of a certain gaming academe blog that posts about SHOCKING (to them) stories of embittered ex’s deleting items or players joining groups and soaking up experience while perma-AFK.

GOD NO! People actually do that?

2005 to the gaming noobs … transmission incoming … people have been doing this kind of shit for ten years. Welcome to the party.

  1. Watched that with bemusement as my main’s server was down for hours upon hours . . .

“They can’t be that dumb, can they?”

    *ker-gank*

    Indeed, they are.

Grief will always find a way.
