A Hunter Sting

Just a typical weekend afternoon in World of Warcraft’s Maraudon …

Hunters-galore!

Looks like a group of five, either desperate for a priest or helping out a priest friend PLUS a whole shitload of hunters. Was there a convention? A roleplay event perhaps? Maybe there’s a portion of the hunter community that missed the memo explaining that the Maraudon “issues” had been repaired.

If it was me, if it was my game, I’d set up a hunter sting. (heh, get it? That’s a pun because hunters get a sting spell. I kill myself.) I’d send in an undercover hunter to befriend them, learn their ways, earn their trust, ask for some advice, eventually get an invite out to Maraudon to see what’s so damn interesting out there.

If it’s interesting for level 60s to spend all day in a zone, there’s GOT to be a cheat.

Here’s someone who’s high.

I’m high

First of all, this was out in Theramore where there’s MAYBE three people running around — unless there’s an Onyxia raid, in which case, they woulda toasted his ass for asking. Second, is he insane? This isn’t one of those online games where you can practically manufacture money by running six missions an hour.

Third, all the rich people are over in Maraudon, doing whatever it is that they do. Namely, getting rich and quick. God! Noob!

  1. My guess, with absolutely no information?

Farming the bosses for disenchant loot.

A high level hunter can take on some pretty nasty baddies, one on one- and Mauradon has just that, in areas that a smart hunter could easily get to with the proper use of feign death- the Mauradon patrols aren’t too bad, and the static groups all have a bit of space between them.

If I remember correctly, all the bosses in that second section (Landslide, Princess, the Croc, and some named goblin) are single enemy fights- if you’ve done the hunter epic quest, you’ve sucessfully fought level 60 elites with no assistance, so that shouldn’t be a problem. Any of the blue loot disenchants into small brilliant shards, with some cash besides. Check the auction house- if those guys have large lots of small brilliant shards for sale, they likely got them while this was going on.
