Please note that Second Life has been banished to its own island, although all gamers are rather geographically isolated from the Bay of Angst. Thank God.

  1. Lol thats awesome. Only thing I wonder about….Google is really that small??

  2. Funny, I just blogged about this map myself. It is pretty cool but I really would have thought WoW was *not* bigger than Flickr!

  3. Gamers are isolated from the bay of angst? What? Then what’s all that damn complaining I keep seeing in games that makes me constantly leave certain channels because I develop an overwhelming urge to strangle the next person who complains about some minor game issue as though it’s worse than world war 3?

  4. Scary, simply scary. MySpace is a monstrosity.

The thing the map fails to take into account is that some people “inhabit” these islands concurrently. For example, a Lineage II player who hangs out on IRC, contributes to YouTube, has a Flickr and a Facebook account, and dabbles in DeviantArt.

The day that someone shows that connection between and across networks… well, that’s the day privacy died. So I hope it never happens. 😉
