A Second Life Education

Please. God. No. The Second Life Education Wiki, a resource for educators and academics interested in using Second Life for teaching purposes. On a serious note, the wiki has collected a lot of valuable links to gaming study materials although I don’t see a huge, blinking neon sign warning educators (that’s the cool word for teachers) that SL is largely an adult zoo.

Imprisoned by Corn

Clickable Culture has screenshots and details of a player prison in bizarro Second Life: Hidden Virtual-World Prison Revealed. Man, do I love this idea! Miscreant players serve their game suspensions in a deserted cornfield with a tractor and a black-and-white television. EQ had a similar, although more rudimentary, GM room for wayward players — where I was summoned two times (thankyouverymuch), once for language and once with my guild for being server assrags. We just got a talking to (yes sir. no sir. ok sir. can I go now?) and were on our way. This player prison for suspensions is so much more … evolved!
